Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) New Zealand celebrated Vijayadashami Utsav 4th October 2025 in Auckland, 5th Oct in Wellington, 11-12th October in Dunedin and Christchurch. The Utsav witnessed participation of over 500 members. This included 140 Atithi’s from 35 various Hindu organisations. Dame Smt Ranjna Ben Patel ji DNZM QSM JP (founder of the Gandhi Nivas family violence prevention programme in New Zealand) was the chief Guest at the Utsav in Auckland. Shri Rajesh Katare ji Professor and Head of Department of Physiology University of Otago was the chief guest at the Dunedin Utsav. Shri Ram Kodukula ji Entrepreneur and Vice President of Sewa International NZ graced the occasion as Chief Guest at the Christchurch Utsav.
Key Highlights
- Pathsanchalan led by Yuva Sevikas and Swayamsevaks, followed by Bala Ganas, the Pathsanchalan symbolised unity and order. Nearly 250 participants marched together, projecting discipline and collective strength.
- Vyayam Yog, Niyudh, Danda were demonstrated in synchrony. The collective movements of Bala, Yuva, Sevika, and Swayamsevak groups displayed physical coordination and spiritual alignment.
- Ghosh Pradarshan -Instruments like Anak, Vamshi, Tribhuj and Shankha were played. This represented devotion and energy, filling the ground with rhythmic Sangh spirit.
- Bala Gana members recited Bhagavad Gita shlokas, with precision which they had been working on memorising for the past couple of months. This practice reinforced moral discipline and devotion among children.
